Darren Doyle, story:
After a solid first quarter, the Wildcats struggled to answer Logan County's hot shooting and was unable to dig themselves out of a hole on the road last night in a 59-45 loss. Logan County's Blake Wood, (20 points), connected on 6 of 10 three-pointers, all in the first half, which allowed the Cougars to establish and keep a lead for this game. Logan's leading scorer, Anthony Woodward, (24ppg) put up 29 points against the Cats. The duo scored all but 10 of the Cougars points last night. The highly charged game, which saw double technical fouls and multiple player separations from officials, was the second-lowest scoring total of the season for the Wildcats as they struggled on the offensive end early. Trace Taylor led the Cats in scoring with 11 points while adding 4 rebounds. Chaz Wilson had 10 points and pulled 14 rebounds. Daniel Woosley added 6 points and 6 rebounds, and Lane Lindsey had 6 points and 4 rebounds. Isaiah Johnson had 4 points, Dylan Lindsey and Tyler Anderson added 3 points each, and Gavin Rose added 2 points. Edmonson County shot 35% from the field and only 42% from the free throw line. They were outrebounded by Logan County 36-34. The Wildcats are now 6-8 on the season and will travel to the Owensboro Sportscenter on Monday to take on Ohio County at 7:30PM.
