Raiders Dominate Wildcats 41-13 In District Match Edmonson Voice Sports:
The Wildcats were roughed up by Hart County Friday night in Munfordville in a big 41-13 district loss. Things looked promising as the Wildcats struck on their first possession as Jonathan Hollis pushed into the end zone less than a minute into the game. The extra point was no good but Edmonson took a 6-0 lead. Hart County answered as the quarter came to a close as the Raiders scored on two-yard touchdown pass. The extra point gave Hart the lead at 7-6 with less than minute to go in the first. The Raiders would never trail again. The Raiders extended their lead in the second quarter as quarterback John Shoulders scored on a couple of touchdowns and Hart County led 21-6 at the half. Neither team scored in the third quarter but Hart County's Shoulders got his passing game going with a 27-yard touchdown pass to senior wide receiver Devin Roten with 8:41 left in the fourth, then again with less than four minutes to go as the Wildcats faced a 34-6 deficit. Hart County once again extended their lead with a short run from senior running back Daveon Wood with 2:47 to go and the Raiders led 41-6. On the Wildcat's next possession, quarterback Jon Smith then launched a 60-yard touchdown pass to junior wide receiver Chance Lucas to allow Edmonson to end the lop-sided game on somewhat of a positive note. The Wildcats added the extra point for a final score of 41-13. The Wildcats finished the game with 33 rushes for 81 yards, and completed 7 of 19 passing attempts at 123 yards for a total of 204 yards of offense. They also threw for one interception. Edmonson County is now 4-4 on the season with two remaining games in the regular season. They are scheduled to take on Larue County at home on Friday, Oct 19th and then Barren County, also at home on the 26th.
