MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky., November 1, 2017 – Mammoth Cave National Park will offer free Mammoth Passage cave tours, on Veterans Weekend, November 11 and 12, 2017.
Mammoth Passage Tours will depart from the visitor center on November 11 and 12 at 9:30 and 12:30 (Central Time).
Participants must pick up a free ticket in the visitor center before going on these tours. The ¾-mile, 1¼-hour Mammoth Passage tour is limited to 70 people. The Mammoth Passage Tour requires a walk down and up a steep path to the Historic Entrance, as well as 160 steps. Visit the Rotunda, one of the largest rooms, explore a vast canyon passageway, and learn about 19th-century saltpeter mining operations and the geologic origins of Mammoth Cave on each of these tours.
