
The Lighthouse Thrift Store is recently relocated to the old Forks Grocery at 80 Stockholm Rd. Mammoth Cave, Ky. Donations are accepted during the Lighthouse Thrift Shop Open Hours Only as follows: Mondays & Fridays: Opens at 10 AM & Closes at 4 PM, Wednesdays & Saturdays: Opens at 12 PM & Closes at 4 PM. The Lighthouse Thrift Store is a nonprofit organization. All proceeds are given to the Lighthouse Food Pantry located at 7522 Nolin Dam Rd Mammoth Cave Ky.to assist in meeting the Communities' needs for Food Boxes at no cost to those receiving a box of food suitable to meet their family's needs.
The September meeting of the Edmonson County Historical Society will be held at 910 Caneyville Road, Roundhill, KY. There will be a pot luck cookout. The start time will be at 5:00pm.

Tuesday, September 12, at 6 pm at the Edmonson County Community Center there will be an informational meeting on the 2023 County Agriculture Investment Program (CAIP). CAIP is an agriculture program administered locally by the Edmonson County Cattlemen Association with tobacco settlement
funds allocated to the county. If interested in signing up for the program, come to the meeting to learn more.
The Edmonson County Conservation District is announcing a local cost share program for Soil Erosion! The program is for cover crop seeding of cropland, Pasture and Hay Field Seeding and Heavy Use Areas, such as gate openings, barn entrances, and small winter-feeding areas. This is a 75/25 reimbursement
for materials only . Maximum reimbursement is $500 per producer. To apply, call the district office at 270-597-2761 orvisit 100 Washington Street Brownsville. Funds are limited, so the offer is first come, first served, and open to landowners of Edmonson County only. An Ag Water Quality Plan and Farm number are required to participate. Applications will not be accepted after September 30, 2023.

Edmonson County Senior (60+) Food Commodities: The Brownsville Senior Center currently has openings for the Feeding America Senior Food Commodity boxes. This is an income-based program for seniors 60+ and includes a pre-packed food box and 3lb box of cheese once a month. At this time there is no waiting list, so if you, or someone you know qualify, you will receive a food box immediately. Call the Senior Center at 270-597-3116 to apply. There are a limited amount of spaces available so call as quickly as possible to see if you qualify.
Edmonson County residents age 60 and over can qualify for free curbside meals Monday-Friday at the Brownsville Senior Center located at 280 Ferguson St. (beside the Library). This program is provided by Community Action of Southern Kentucky and is available to our seniors and income guidelines do not apply.
