Max Jackson, Edmonson Voice If someone were to tell you that there are three current Edmonson County residents that have performed on the world famous Grand Ol' Opry, would you believe them? You should, because it's absolutely the truth. Two of those folks are for another story, but one, Ben Probus, lives on Highway 259 in Pig. Probus, a professional fiddle player, is now on tour with veteran county superstar Mark Chesnutt. "I lived in Nashville for a while because it made my drive lots easier, but I hated living in the city," he said. "I don't mind the drive anymore, because living here makes up for it." Probus has toured with several well known artists. Band Perry, Glorianna, and Jarod Neimann to name a few. He's had several music industry folks try to convince him that he'd be more successful by moving back to the Nashville area, but he's not buying into it. "My wife, Paige and I want a quiet place to raise our son, (who just turned a year old) and we go to church here. We've also got lots of friends and family here, too." When Ben is not on the road he collaborates with songwriters, gives lessons, and enjoys time with his family. Ben is co-founder of NashvilleGigFinder.com, which is a network of over 10,000 professional musicians that help each other find work and keep it. While at home, he also restores fiddles and other instruments. You might run into him at the post office, bank, or anywhere in Brownsville...just fiddlin' around.

Ben is an awesome fiddle player. He was with Mark a few years ago for a while. Nice to have him back! I have been going to see Mark all over the U.S every year for a little over 22 years. Mark Chesnutt and the New South Band are AWESOME.. Nice that Ben is a part of it again.
