Dennis W. Hawkins, age 75

Dennis W. Hawkins, age 75 of Park City, departed this life with his family by his side on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green.  The Edmonson County native was born on December 17, 1947 to the late Junior “J.V.” and Ruth Ray Hawkins, both of whom preceded him in death.  He was married to his devoted wife and helpmate of fifty-six years, Mary Houchin Hawkins, who survives. 

Dennis retired as a manager after working forty-five years with Square Deal Lumber.  He was a faithful member of Beaver Dam Chapel United Baptist Church.   He was ordained as a deacon in 2007, and also served as church treasurer for over thirty-five years. 

Besides his wife, Mary, he leaves to honor his memory— four daughters, Tammy Atwell (Russell) of Park City, Christy Dunn (Frank) of Huntsville, AL, Laura Houchens (Chris) of Smiths Grove and Lisa Bale (Les) of Glasgow; five grandchildren, Morgan Smothers (Camron), Tyler Atwell, Jackson Houchens, Alana Houchens and Ava Bale; one great-grandson, Leighton Smothers; a brother, Larry Hawkins (Marsha) of Pig, along with a host of friends and family members that will dearly miss him.

Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
