Frances Geraldine “Gerry” Vanzant Basham, 90

Frances Geraldine “Gerry” Vanzant Basham, 90, of Anna, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, January 13th with her family by her side. The Metcalfe County native was the daughter of the late James Edgar Vanzant and Eddie Lee Pedigo Vanzant. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Basham was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Marion Basham; a son, Steven O. Basham; a sister, Geneva Gardner and a brother, William P. Vanzant.

Frances was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She worked long hours on the farm and enjoyed taking care of her flowers. She enjoyed anything outdoors and spending time with family.

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon L. Logsdon (Jim); one son, Gary N. Basham (Carolyn); one daughter-in-law, Phyllis Basham; six grandchildren, Shane Basham (Melanie), Shelby Basham (Jessica), Kyle Basham (J.R.), Cody Basham (Summer), Nick Logsdon (Chrissy) and Ashley Kinser (Josh); thirteen great grandchildren; one nephew, Ricky Vanzant and two nieces, Sue Coalson and Becky Tyre. 

Funeral services for Mrs. Basham will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 18 at Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at the Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ Cemetery. Additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 17th from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home.
