Irene Jaggers, 82, of Mammoth Cave passed away peacefully with family by her side May 8, 2023 at her residence.
The Edmonson County native was a waitress and homemaker. She was a daughter of the late Dan Jaggers and Rebecca Poteet Jaggers. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Jaggers; nine siblings, Vergie, Lucy, Earl, Merial, Evelyn, Loy, Charlcie, Harold and Millie; and a grandson, Shane Halsell.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday at Cove Hollow United Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will take place 11:00 AM-8:00 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home and after 9:00 AM Thursday at the church.
Surviving are six children, Danny Halsell (Sharon) of Mammoth Cave, Linda Wells of Richardsville, Larry McElfresh (Elaine) of Bowling Green, Johnny McElfresh (Linda) of Bee Spring and Pam Wallace and Jay Bear both of Indianapolis; a sister, Margie Moon (Ernie) of Horse Cave; 16 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
