It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Malesia Ann Simpkins, a beloved mother, cherished friend, and pillar of strength, who left this world on December 24th, 2023.
Born on May 5th, 1959, Lesia brought boundless love, warmth, and wisdom into the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She never met a stranger and welcomed everyone with open arms and a hug. She leaves a legacy of compassion, resilience, and unwavering dedication to those she loved.
A native of Brownsville, KY, Lisa was a beacon of kindness and generosity. Her nurturing spirit and selfless love knew no bounds, and she touched the lives of countless individuals with her grace and compassion. She created a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories for all who entered. An avid advocate for family and close friendships, Lesia, was always seeking ways to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Her tireless dedication to uplifting those in need served as an inspiration to many, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Malesia Ann Simpkins is survived by her loving family, her partner Jim Fuller, her children, Christopher D. Poteet and Joshua K. Simpkins, and her brother William (Bill) Poteet. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Reva Poteet.
Anyone who knew Lesia is aware that she would not want anyone to mourn her and that this is just a shell covering her true self. In keeping with her wishes, A Celebration of Life will be held on January 6th at J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel from noon until 1 p.m.. Join us in sharing wonderful stories about who she was and what her legacy will be in each of our hearts. As we say our final goodbyes to this remarkable woman, let’s surround her with the love that she so generously gave throughout her life.
