Melvin Clay Doyle, age 91 of Cedar Springs, peacefully departed this life at his residence with his family by his side on Friday, February 17, 2023. The Edmonson County native was born on May 25, 1931 to the late Yancy Clay and Nellie Alma Martin Doyle. He was married to his best friend, helpmate and wife of seventy-one years, Mary Louise Cook Doyle.

Melvin was a faithful member and deacon at Cedar Springs United Baptist Church, where he also served as the Sunday School Superintendent for over forty years.  Melvin worked on his farm, enjoyed fox hunting, and was the greens keeper at Park Mammoth Resort for many years. His greatest joy was going to church and serving the Lord with his family, whom he adored.

Besides his wife, Louise, he leaves to honor his memory— his children, Malcolm Doyle (Belinda) and Anna Sturgeon (Steve) of Cedar Springs; his grandchildren, Amy Hundley (Bob), Clay Doyle (Lori), Jeff Doyle (Holli)  and Robin Lich (Robbie); nine great-grandchildren, Kennady Poteet (Logan), MaKenzie Wells (fiancé Patrick Tollman), Morgan Crain (Dustin), Kassady Potter (John), Keely Doyle (fiancé Chase Turley), Dalton Doyle, Kollin Doyle, Josie Lich and Briley Doyle; two great-great-grandchildren, Avery Crain and Blakely Kay Poteet, and one brother, Gerry Doyle (Rometta). He was also preceded in death by his siblings, J.B Doyle and Loretta Brooks, and infant sisters, Debra Sue Doyle and Iris Laveda Doyle.
Interment will be in Lambert Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to:  Hosparus Health of Barren River, 101 Riverwood Ave. Suite B, Bowling Green, KY 42103.
