Murrell Johnson, age 77

Murrell Johnson, age 77, of Rocky Hill, departed this life on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at TriStar Centennial Hospital in Nashville, TN. The Barren County native was born on October 6, 1945 to the late Jimmy Lawrence and Grace Hope Johnson. He was married to Judy Carol Johnson, until they were parted by her death on July 5, 2015.

Murrell was self-employed, and owned and operated Murrell Johnson Construction for many years.  He was an avid horseback rider, and was a member of Cedar Springs Community Church.

He leaves to honor his memory— three children, Dewayne Johnson (Alicia) of Naples, FL, Cherie Howard (Roy) of Glasgow and Nicholas Johnson (Megan) of Cincinnati, OH; five grandchildren, Dylan Howard (Amelia), Ariana Whitt (Tanner) Dymie Carroll (Hunter), Ashton Johnson and Aiden Johnson; great-grandchild, Ty Carroll and his twin sister, Murlene McCoy. Murrell was preceded in death by his siblings, Elizabeth Williams, Andrew Johnson, Charles Johnson, Ailene Beck, Marie Gregory, Frances “Bunny” Kemble and Maurice Johnson. 
  
Interment will be in Lambert Cemetery.
