Steve D. Cardwell, age 70

Steve D. Cardwell, age 70, of Wingfield, departed this life on Thursday, August 19, 2021. He was born on January 17, 1951 in Edmonson County to the late Carl Dempsey Cardwell and Helen Smith Thornburg. Steve was married to Shirley Sullivan Cardwell, who survives.

Steve was a delivery driver for Sears and Lowes. He was a member of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing.

Besides his wife, he leaves to honor his memory-- one son, Steven Cardwell of Bowling Green; one daughter, Alisha Key (Ray) of Wingfield; five grandchildren, Tiffany Vincent (Justin), Brittany Smith (Justin), Matthew Key, Alexis Cardwell and Dylen Cardwell; three great-grandchildren, Addi Vincent, Emma Vincent and Whitleigh Harper; four brothers, James Cardwell, Carl Cardwell, Jr., Bill Thornburg, Jr. and Randy Cardwell; one sister, Teresa Vanover; special nephew, Freddie Jarrell and several other nieces and nephews. Besides his parents,  he was also preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey James Rogers and one sister, Katherine Thomas.

Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery.
