Versie Dean Hawks Miller, Age 89

Versie Dean Hawks Miller, age 89, of the Glenmore community, was surrounded by her family when she departed this life on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2023.  The Edmonson County native was born on February 15, 1934 to the late Larmie and Pernia Wolf Hawks.  She was married to her husband of over 52 years, Tommy Miller, Jr., until they were parted by  his death on July 2, 2006. 

Versie Dean was a homemaker and loved working with her hands to care for her family.  She was a member of Pleasant Grove “Miller Hill” Missionary Baptist Church. 

She leaves to honor her memory— her children, Tommy S. Miller (Joy) of Glenmore, Mary Jane “Janie” Burch (Allen) of Anna, Sheila Hause (Wayne) of Bowling Green and Cindy Kay Boyd (Bobby) of Glenmore; siblings, Elwood Hawks (Caroline), Ronell Hawks (Virginia), Floyd Hawks, Imogene Davis and Ida Mae Sullivan, along with nine grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Leonard, Tony, Walton, Norman and Percy Hawks and a great-grandson, Keaton Allen Lawrence.

Interment will be in Pleasant Grove “Miller Hill” Church Cemetery.
