Darren Doyle, Editor As we told you yesterday, tomorrow is our 1st birthday and we're closing in on 1 million visits to Edmonson Voice. com. We've covered a variety of subjects, events, and happenings in Edmonson County during that time, but the public doesn't see all the emails and Facebook messages we receive on a daily basis, and those are sometimes very entertaining. We literally have to check our Facebook page around 100 times per day to monitor comments and check messages. Unfortunately, there are still some folks that don't know what the phrase "family-friendly" means...but anyway... We sometimes are asked to write stories on various subjects or events, and we certainly welcome the suggestions as they sometimes lead to very informative pieces. Fortunately for the public, we don't follow up on many of them as you'll see below. Some folks still don't understand that we're a legit news organization, not a gossip site or just a Facebook page. Because of that, sometimes we get some pretty ugly emails and messages, mostly due to a crime or court related story that we published and someone close to a suspect or subject wasn't happy with it. Lots of folks like to read "dirt" on someone unless it happens to them, or someone close to them. So, with that said, here are some actual quotes from Facebook messages and emails over the year. These are only some of the ones that don't contain profanity...we'll save the others for another day. We aren't publishing any names to protect the stupi...uh, the innocen...I mean...Ok, we aren't publishing any names just because. Remember, these are real...
Ok, that's enough for now. I guess it should be flattering that some people think we're that knowledgeable or influential...You've either just gotten a good laugh or lost your faith in humanity. Maybe both. Tune in next year for hopefully an even better edition of "Ridiculous Requests and Emails!" Thanks for reading EdmonsonVoice.com. |
