Darren Doyle, story and photo:
The Brownsville Police Department has reported that they responded to a 911 call today at the Minit Mart in Brownsville around 1pm to a report of an assault taking place inside the store.

Police said that Ms. Emily Lashley was allegedly confronted by three individuals, Haley Gertizer, Zach Hogan, and Brett Higgs and a fight ensued between the two young women. Police said video security footage of the incident shows the fight taking place.

According to police, Ms. Lashley's wallet was dropped during the altercation and the three individuals grabbed it and ran from the store into the woods behind Green River Apartments on foot.

Law enforcement officials from the BPD and Edmonson County Sheriff's Office searched the woods and highways around ECHS and HWY 70 and while two of the individuals were spotted in the woods, they were not apprehended and are still on the run.

The Sheriff's office said they located Ms. Lashley's wallet in the parking lot of the car wash and they reported the wallet had been emptied.

Police said Higgs turned himself in and was charged with Robbery 2nd degree. He has been lodged in the Hart County Jail. The other two are wanted for possible robbery and assault charges. Gertizer is said to be around 19-20 years old and Hogan is 20-22 years old. They were last known to be somewhere in the wooded area across the street from the HWY 70 Ballpark area.

If you have any information as to the whereabouts of these two individuals, you are asked to contact Edmonson County Dispatch at 270-597-2729 or dial 911.
