My mother is ib that nursing home. She always had good care when she was in the East Wing; but she was moved to the West wing (where I've seen those people there) and she started declining and I wasn't happy to see the way some in that wing were doing so I asked them to please move her back to the East Wing. They did move her back and she started to improve and is much happier in the East Wing. She has alzheimers so she doesn't remember things like normal but I know that she is happier on East Wing. She will smile and respond more. When she was on West Wing she was usually nonresponsive and was in a daze most of the time.

Our facility has always been run by some of the best staff. I am so shocked to hear this. I have done mission work there and there are some very wonderful residents there. We need to work together on keeping this center here and screen to hire people. After all, they are not just people, they are our family and our friends. This is a facility that is there to take care of them in their final years and we need to work at making sure that we don' get people like that again, never again.

There is no punishment that would be great enough for these people. They sure wouldn't want me on their jury!!!

My Mother was a resident at this facility back in 2009. She received several falls and two bone fractures plus horrible bruising. One of her fractures was treated as "arthritis." She was a dementia/Alzheimer's patient--yet they interviewed HER when we filed a complaint--Mother couldn't remember what happened 5 seconds ago. We NEVER did find out how she was bruised so terribly on her arms--bruises indicated manhandling! The nursing home management said the Edmonson County EMT's did it upon transport to BG hospital, EMT's said no way! So, all our efforts never brought answers. The nursing home at Brownsville was not prepared to handle dementia patients and treated our Mother's behavior as a personal attack on them! This abuse of residents did not just begin--there's been a pattern. I personally believe that the entire management staff should be put on administrative leave until this latest case is adjudicated.
