Brownsville, Kentucky – October 13, 2014 – Edmonson County Schools Superintendent Patrick Waddell today announced that the school district will receive a contribution of $10,000 from AT&T to support the Edmonson County High School science program. The contribution will be used to help purchase new microscopes for the biology labs and Venier probes for gathering data in chemistry and physics projects. "By providing students with the tools they need to get a good education, we are making a significant investment in their ability to be successful later in life,” said State Representative Michael Meredith. “I appreciate the partnership between the business community and our educational leaders to support Kentucky’s next generation of leaders.” “The overwhelming support from Representative Meredith is why we are able to bring these programs to the community and positively impact the lives of students throughout the area,” said Waddell. “We look forward to building our science program and preparing our students to continue their education or join the workforce for years to come.” “At AT&T, investing in the communities we serve is a critical part of what we do,” said Nancy Jarett, AT&T Kentucky Regional Director. “Supporting the work of local schools to educate students is one of the best investments a company could make. We appreciate the chance to partner in this effort.”
