A Cub Run man has died as a result from injuries sustained in a house fire earlier this morning, according to the Edmonson County Sheriff's Office. Firefighters were paged this morning around 7AM to the 300 block of Logsdon Road in Cub Run to a report of a structure fire. According to the Sheriff's Office, family members saw smoke coming from the residence but as they attempted to make entry, the house became fully engulfed and they were unable to get to resident inside, who was identified as Wilburn Cox, 86. Mr. Cox was pronounced deceased by the Hart County Coroner's office. The Edmonson County Coroner's office was currently closed due to required training. "We appreciate the efforts of our local fire departments, especially Lincoln," he said. "This fire took place in their district and all our emergency personnel did everything they could. These are always very tragic and difficult situations and our hearts go out to this family. We are very sorry for their loss." Responding to the scene were the Lincoln, Kyrock, and Brownsville Fire Departments, Edmonson County Emergency Management, Edmonson EMS, the Edmonson County Sheriff's Office, and the Hart County Coroner.
