![]() Edmonson Voice Staff Michael Adams, 21, of Panama City Beach, FL was found guilty of sexual abuse--1st degree on Thursday, November 19th in a trial by jury. Adams was indicted by a Grand Jury on 6/16/14 and arrested on a warrant on 7/20/14. Adams was accused by an Edmonson County 14 year old juvenile girl of inappropriate touching of the genitalia while she slept. KSP Trooper Tommie Walters was the investigating officer. Commonwealth Attorney Tim Coleman was the prosecuting attorney in the case. Local officials said that Coleman, who has always had a strong stance on sexual assault and abuse cases, presented a solid case for the Commonwealth. According to officials, Adams was supposed to be a friend of the juvenile's family and was visiting. The jury recommended the maximum penalty of 5 years in the state penitentiary.
