Local Teen Injured In Crash
The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to a report of an injury collision on Sulphur Road in Edmonson County where a vehicle had struck a utility pole. The collision occurred on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at approx. 3:05 pm.
The preliminary investigation indicated that Mattalyn Cowles (16) of Brownsville was operating a 2008 Chevrolet passenger car southbound on Sulphur Road when she failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.
Cowles had to be extricated from the vehicle with the Jaws of Life by the Chalybeate Volunteer Fire Department and Edmonson County EMS. She was then transported to the Medical Center at Bowling Green for treatment of her injuries.
The investigation is still ongoing and being led by Master Trooper Terry Alexander.
