At the May School Board meeting, Nadina Alexander, a 5th grade teacher, was awarded for her participation in the Aspiring Principals Training at Harvard University.
Mrs. Alexander is participating in the Leading to Learn Grant, a federal grant coordinated by GRREC (Green River Regional Educational Cooperative) that encourages educators to pursue a principalship certificate by helping with tuition and providing professional learning experiences necessary to become effective administrators.
Kyle Cassady, Leading to Learn Coordinator at GRREC, was on hand to present the award as well as Joe Tinius, former Bowling Green Independent Schools Superintendent and Mrs. Alexander's Leading to Learn Mentor.
Mr. Tinius said, "Mrs. Alexander is committed and dedicated to the program." He said that he believes her strong relationships with her students will help her reach her full potential as a future principal.
