A $50,000 cash bond has been set for Alexandra Richardson, (28) of Wingfield, according to the Hart County Jail. Richardson was charged with murder among other charges yesterday as a result of the death of her son after she drove her vehicle into the flooded Alexander Creek on Oak Hill Road on Monday night. Information listed on Richardson's arrest warrant, which was provided by the Edmonson County Sheriff's Office, stated: "Alexandra Richardson committed Murder KRS 507.020 on or about December 2, 2019 when she operated a motor vehicle upon the highways of the Commonwealth while under the influence of drugs and wantonly drove her vehicle around a "road closed" sign and into a flooded creek. This created a grave risk of death to her minor passenger, (name redacted) who ultimately died due to drowning." "Alexandra Richardson committed Wanton Endangerment First Degree KRS 508.060 on or about December 2, 2019 when she engaged in conduct which created substantial danger of serious physical injury to two minor children." "Alexandra Richardson committed Driving Under The Influence of Drugs/Alcohol KRS 189A.010 (5a) first offense, on or about December 2, 2019 when she operated or was under physical control of a motor vehicle upon the highways of the Commonwealth while under the influence of drugs/alcohol." The arrest warrant was electronically signed by Judge J. McCarty at 10:06am on Wednesday, December 4, 2019. The murder charge is a capital offense in KY. The penalty for this class carries 20 to 50 years in prison, or life in prison. Richardson has a court date scheduled for December 10, 2019, according to the Hart County Jail.
