One man was injured in a two-vehicle rollover crash this morning on KY 259.
Darren Doyle, story and photos:
A rollover crash involving two vehicles occurred this morning at the junction of KY HWY 259 (Veterans HWY) and KY HWY 3021 sending an elderly Brownsville man to the hospital around 7:15am.

According to the Edmonson County Sheriff's Office, Clevie James, (90), of Brownsville, who was driving a 1993 Toyota pickup, pulled into the path of Audrey Meredith, (22) of Sweeden, who was headed south on KY 259 in a 1992 Honda Accord.  The vehicles collided in the road and James' Toyota overturned into the grass.

Officials said that James was able to crawl out a smashed window thanks to volunteers that stopped at the crash. He was transported to the Medical Center for unknown injuries. Although shaken up, the driver of the Honda, who was said to be an expectant mother, was not injured in the crash.

Via Facebook, one woman said that she was the daughter of Mr. James and gave an update on his condition.

"My Dad was in the truck and he is at BG at the Medical Center being checked out. I'm getting info from my sister who is there with him. He's 90 years old, has been extremely blessed - bilateral brain bleeds a couple of years ago, gallbladder surgery last year, drove a truck over-the-road for years with no accidents, ... Janette said he seems to be just banged up but they are checking him out - especially to be sure the brain bleeds weren't reactivated. We've been told the other driver wasn't hurt. She will probably be sore though," said the comment from the account of Laura Marian James Singleton.

The sheriff's office said both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.

Also responding to the scene were the Brownsville and Chalybeate Fire Departments.

So glad Clevie and the other person weren't hurt badly. Haven't seen Clevie in a long time. Prayers for no serious injuries <3

I want to thank everyone who assisted my dad Clevie James and the young lady who were involved in an accident last Fri. am.
Thankfully neither were seriously hurt. That was a main concern.
I appreciate everyone who stopped or did anything to see that they were both helped and ok.
May God bless you all-whomever you were.
Again thank you from all of our family.
