Darren Doyle, story and photos Severe thunderstorms ripped through Edmonson County around 3pm on Wednesday, July 6, 2016, toppling trees, twisting limbs, and throwing debris everywhere. Virtually all of Edmonson County was without power at press time. Highway crews, emergency personnel, and volunteers were out county-wide clearing downed trees and limbs from roadways. Several state and county roads were blocked with trees and debris. Warren Rural Electric released a statement that said "At 3:45 p.m., there were over 13,000 Warren RECC members without power. All crews are working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. To report outages in Warren County, call 270-843-9710; outside Warren County, call 1-888-604-4321." WRECC urges anyone who sees a downed power line to stay clear and call Warren RECC immediately. Officials say there are reports of downed power lines all across the county which means power outages could last several hours.

The Hawsell Dr. tree is the one that missed my house by a few feet. My daughter watched it fall . So blessed that it didn't hit the house. It ripped my electric and phone lines off the side of my house. Pretty scary to come home to this and see just how close we came to it being so much worse. Comments are closed.
