Edmonson Voice Staff Afternoon rain showers contributed to two different accidents over a 2 hour period yesterday. At around 1pm yesterday afternoon, a 2005 Saturn Ion, driven by Nancy Brown, 52, of Glasgow, ran off the road on Fairview Church Road in Rocky Hill, striking a tree, and resulting in a damaged fence belonging to Mrs. Dallas Cline. Brown was not injured. ![]() Later, around 2:30pm, Jessie D. Meredith, 19, of Mammoth Cave entered the curves on Nolin Dam Road just west of the dam, and lost control of his 2001 Chevy S10. Meredith's truck struck an embankment, rolled to the driver's side, and began spinning on the roadway, finally coming to rest back on it's wheels. Meredith escaped with no injuries as well. "When the roads are wet after a dry spell, everyone knows how slick they can be. Please use caution when these summer rain showers pop up," Sheriff Shane Doyle said. "I'd also like to thank the Kyrock Volunteer Fire Department for their assistance in traffic control on Nolin Dam Road. It was a great help."
