(Park City, KY)- On Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at approx. 2:30 am the Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green received a call of an single vehicle injury collision involving a tractor trailer on Interstate 65 at the 45 mile marker northbound in Edmonson County.
The preliminary investigation indicated that William Blackwell (49) of Pioneer, Louisiana was traveling northbound on Interstate 65 operating a 2014 Freightliner tractor trailer when he lost control of his vehicle for an unknown reason and veered left, striking the barrier wall at the 45 mile marker, where he came to final rest in the emergency lane after a short distance.
Mr. Blackwell was transported by the Barren-Metcalfe EMS to T.J. Samson Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead by the Barren County Coroner's Office. Due to the minimal damage to the vehicle it is believed that Mr. Blackwell may have suffered an unknown medical emergency.
