Edmonson Voice Staff Report:
Abby Alexander and Peyton Martin, both 2018 graduates of Edmonson County High School, are the recipients of college scholarships from Edmonson County Farm Bureau. In partnership with County Farm Bureaus, the Kentucky Farm Bureau Education Foundation awarded $465,400 this year to deserving students from across the Commonwealth. Abby Alexander was awarded a $1,000 scholarship. Alexander plans to attend Western Kentucky University to earn a degree in nursing. She is the daughter of Terry and Dana Alexander of Smiths Grove, KY. Peyton Martin also was awarded a $1,000 scholarship. She is heading to South-Central Kentucky Community & Technical College to obtain a degree in nursing. Martin is the daughter of Porter and Donna Martin of Smiths Grove, KY. Farm Bureau scholarships, offered annually, are awarded to recipients who display the greatest levels of academic excellence, involvement in extracurricular activities, leadership abilities and financial need.
