by Barbara Johnson, Edmonson County Conservation District: Ashley Logsdon of Roundhill has been named the 2016 Master Conservationist for Edmonson County. The Master Conservationist Award-Recognizes farmers who have completed more that 90 percent of their conservation plan to protect the soil, air and water on their farm, which also protects the environment of their community. Whittle Farms of Chalybeate was named the 2016 Outstanding Cooperator for Edmonson County. The Outstanding Cooperator Award- Recognizes cooperators who are taking the initiative to implement sound, cost-effective conservation efforts, and best management practices. The Outstanding Cooperator award is awarded to farmers who have completed their Master Conservationist criteria and continued their commitment to protect the environment.
Ms. Logsdon and Whittle Farms were awarded signs for their farms, and certificates to commemorate their achievements in conservation by the Edmonson County Conservation District. Comments are closed.
