Except law enforcement officers. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES or controlled substances on fairgrounds. NO PERSONS on fairgrounds after event is over, unless authorized by Lions Club member. THE FAIR STAFF will exercise every reasonable precaution to safeguard the public, exhibitors, employees, and exhibits, but positively will not be liable for death, loss, theft, damages or injuries to persons, animals, or articles. THE EDMONSON COUNTY LIONS CLUB reserves the right to remove from the grounds any persons of disorderly conduct and neither the Lions Club nor its personnel shall be liable for such actions. THE FAIR BOARD reserves the right to cancel any part of the Fair due to conditions beyond their control, and will not refund admission. THE MANAGEMENT of the Fair reserves the final and absolute right to interpret rules and regulations and settle all matters in question and differences that may arise in connection with holding, managing, or promoting the Fair. THE JUDGES’ DECISIONS will be final, unless complaint can show fraud or irregularity in placing of awards. ANY MEMBER of the Fair Board or Fair Committee shall have the authority without liability or recourse to the Edmonson County Fair to bar discourteous acts to a judge or official of the Fair, and shall have the power to disqualify the exhibitor/participant and they would have to forfeit all entry fees and any prize money that may have been awarded them. ANY PARTICIPANT or representative attempting to interfere with judges before, during or after their event will cause the participant to be disqualified from competition. ALL EVENT participants must sign a release. If under 18 years of age, release must be signed by parent or guardian. THE EDMONSON COUNTY LIONS CLUB FAIR IS SPONSORED BY THE Entries made in 4-H, FFA, and FHA Classes must have been made or produced by the individual, in conjunction with an approved project sponsored by these organizations. The pageants will begin at 7 p.m. each evening. All pageants are open to all residents of Kentucky. A local winner, state-representative winner, 1st, 2nd & 3rd runner-up will be chosen in the divisions. Local winners MUST be a resident of Edmonson County or must attend school there. The state-representative winner can reside EITHER locally or outside of the county and will represent Edmonson County at the state competition. Dressing rooms will be available for contestants and they will only be allowed one person to assist them in the dressing room. SCHEDULE: • Friday, September 7 (beginning at 7 p.m.) – Tiny Miss Edmonson County, Little Miss Edmonson County & Ms. Edmonson County • Saturday, September 8 (beginning at 7 p.m.) – Miss Pre-Teen Edmonson County, Miss Teen Edmonson County & Miss Edmonson County Fair REGISTRATION: Registration will be from 4-6 p.m. on the days of the pageants. This will be the ONLY time to register. We will accept cash or checks. If a contestant wishes to complete their registration form in advance, they are welcome to print the form from our Facebook page and bring it the day of their pageant. There will be NO pre-registration or practice. ELIGIBILITY & JUDGING: A contestant may not compete if they have already won a title from another county fair pageant during this calendar year. A state contestant may only represent one local fair and must represent the first local fair that they win during the calendar year. Previous local winners may compete in the same division again for the state representative title only. The age requirements for the Preteen division varies slightly from that required at the state level, so please confirm contestant’s eligibility if competing in that group. Out-of-town judges will be selected and every effort will be made to ensure fairness. No scoresheets will be shared with contestants and all judge’s decisions are final. Entry fees will not be returned for any reason. PARADE: All winners and runners-up are encouraged to participate in the Edmonson County Fair Parade on Friday, September 21 at 9 a.m. The parade participants must report to a Lions Club Member by 8 a.m. at the Edmonson County High School Parking Lot (220 Wildcat Way, Brownsville, KY 42210). All participants are responsible for providing their own cars, signs and candy. TINY MISS EDMONSON COUNTY. $20 Entry Fee. Tiny Miss will be the first division to compete on September 7 at 7 p.m. To compete in Tiny Miss, contestants must be between 4 and 6 years old on the day of our pageant. Contestants may wear Sunday best or pageant dresses. The dress may NOT be strapless, fully beaded or fully sequined. However, floor length dresses ARE permitted. Winners (state and local) will receive a crown, silver tray, sash and bouquet. Runners-up will receive silver trays. LITTLE MISS EDMONSON COUNTY. $25 Entry Fee. Little Miss will be the second division to compete on September 7 and will take the stage immediately following Tiny Miss. To compete in Little Miss, contestants must be between 7 and 9 years old on the day of our pageant. Contestants may wear Sunday best or pageant dresses. The dress may NOT be strapless, fully beaded or fully sequined. However, floor length dresses ARE permitted. Winners (state and local) will receive a crown, silver tray, sash and bouquet. Runners-up will receive silver trays. MISS PRE-TEEN EDMONSON COUNTY. $30 Entry Fee. Miss Pre-Teen will be the first division to compete on Saturday, September 8 at 7 p.m. To compete in Miss Pre-Teen, contestants must be at least 10 years old on the day of our pageant, but not 13 years or older on October 31, 2018. Contestants may compete in either floor length or tea length, pageant/ prom, age appropriate dresses. The dress may NOT be strapless, fully beaded or fully sequined. However, floor length dresses ARE permitted. There will be no outfit change, interview, or on stage question for this division. Winners (state and local) will receive a crown, silver tray, sash and bouquet. The state winner will receive a cash award to assist with expenses at the state competition when she represents Edmonson County Fair. Runners-up will receive silver trays. MISS TEEN EDMONSON COUNTY. $40 Entry Fee. Miss Teen will be the second division to compete on Saturday, September 8. To compete in Miss Teen, contestants must be at least 13 years old on the day of our pageant, but not 16 years or older on October 31, 2018. Contestants will compete in floor length pageant/prom, age appropriate dresses. The dress may NOT be strapless, fully beaded or fully sequined. There will be no outfit change, interview, or on stage question for this division. Contestants in Miss Teen Edmonson County must be single, never married, never had a marriage annulled, and never had any children. Winners (state and local) will receive a crown, silver tray, sash and bouquet. The state winner will receive a cash award to assist with expenses at the state competition when she represents Edmonson County Fair. Runners-up will receive silver trays. MISS EDMONSON COUNTY. $50 Entry Fee. Miss Edmonson County will be held on Saturday, September 8. Contestants will first compete in swimsuit between the Pre-Teen and Teen pageants and will then compete in formal wear after the Teen pageant has concluded. This allows contestants plenty of time to change. To compete in Miss Edmonson County, contestants must be at least 16 years old on the day of our pageant, but not 22 years or older on October 31, 2018. Contestants will first compete in one piece pageant swimsuits and will then compete in floor length, formal pageant dresses. All contestants will introduce themselves on stage, but only semifinalists will be required to answer an on stage question. There is no additional interview or opening number for this division. Contestants in Miss Edmonson County must be single, never married, never had a marriage annulled, and never had any children. Winners (state and local) will receive a crown, silver tray, sash and bouquet. The state winner will receive a cash award to assist with expenses at the state competition when she represents Edmonson County Fair. Runners-up will receive silver trays. MS. EDMONSON COUNTY. $40 Entry Fee. Ms. Edmonson County will be the third and final division to compete on September 7. Contestants will take the stage immediately following Little Miss. To compete in Ms. Edmonson County, contestants must be at least 22 years or older on the day of the pageant and must be married or widowed. Contestants will compete in floor length age appropriate formal dresses. All contestants will introduce themselves on stage, but only semi-finalists may be required to answer an on stage question.
