The annual "Cram the Cruiser" school supply drive and fundraiser for Edmonson County Schools is returning to the community this Friday, July 22nd in multiple locations. In addition to the the normal locations, which are Dollar General in Chalybeate and Family Dollar in Brownsville, several other businesses are offering special discounts, promotions, and activities throughout the day. Chalybeate Food Mart is pairing their annual customer appreciation day with CtC, with specials throughout the day, Stacy’s on Main and Southbound Boutique is donating 10% of all sales on Friday to CTC, Creations by Tracy and Ashlee are also offering a percentage of the sales for Friday and Saturday toward CTC, and ACE Hardware has a special day planned to support CTC which will be Friday, July 29th. Lisa Whobrey, Community Education Director for Edmonson County, said that Kentucky State Police, Edmonson County Sheriff's Office, Brownsville City Police, Edmonson EMS and Chalybeate Fire Department will be helping throughout the event. "We truly have the most amazing community," she said. At any location throughout the event, school supplies of all kinds and monetary donations will be accepted and will be dispersed throughout the Edmonson County School District. The most common items needed are crayons, coloring pencils, notebook paper, two-pocket, three-prong folders, composition notebooks, pencils, pens, backpacks, and pencil boxes or pouches. Hand sanitizer and personal hygiene items are also welcome. Monetary donations will be accepted by either cash or check.
