The first-ever Big Brownsville Bash 5K was held at Chalybeate Sports Complex on Saturday, June 4, 2022.

The event was sponsored by the Edmonson County Tourism Commission and organized by Edmonson County Parks and Rec Director A.B. Webb, with help from Paula Madison.

The Big Brownsville Bash was created and organized by the Edmonson County Chamber of Commerce and is planned to be an annual event.

"Having a first-year festival, we wanted to host a number of events that would appeal to all ages," said Chamber President Darren Doyle. "We received really good feedback from this year's festival overall and our 5K. We hope to double the amount of participants for next year. We also appreciate Edmonson County Tourism for their sponsorship and the help we received from A.B. Webb and Paula Madison."
