Darren Doyle, story and photos: It was the biggest crowd seen on the courthouse square in years, according to several that attended the Big Brownsville Bash Car Show on the Square, on Saturday, June 4, 2022, sponsored by Rafferty's. The event saw the estimated amount of cars registered before registration was actually supposed to begin and that number nearly tripled before the end of the day. The Best of Show was awarded to Mr. Clay Blue of Russellville for his stunning turquoise 1955 Chevy Bel Air. The winners were as follow:
Chamber board member Mike Stoyonovich, who organized the event said there were 117 total entries with over 130 unique cars on the square on Saturday.
"Judges had so many beautiful cars and trucks to judge, the award choices were very difficult," he said. "The Big Brownsville Bash car show exceeded the Chamber's expectations and we are so grateful for the vintage car owners and the spectators that came in droves to support us and to be able to entertain our Edmonson County friends and neighbors." The Chamber said they would also like to thank members of the DAV and Shelby Duvall for volunteering at the event.
