A neighboring land owner to Chalybeate park hired a logging company earlier in 2015 to provide services on his land. Some of the area was near what the county thought was park property and after doing some research, it was found that there was no recorded survey for Chalybeate Park.
The Fiscal Court agreed to hire Pride Surveying in Glasgow to conduct a survey of the entire property at a cost of $1500. Dennis Kepple, the neighboring land owner, agreed to pay a portion of the cost where the park property met his.
After completion of the survey, it was found that Mr. Kepple's logging was done well within his own property with no question. The county was more concerned with having the correct boundaries recorded than Mr. Kepple's logging, and Judge Cannon said it was good to have a permanent record on file.
