The Edmonson County Chamber of Commerce has announced they will host a Community Luncheon at the Edmonson County Library on Friday, May 18th at 11:00 am. The Luncheon is sponsored by St. John's Thrift Store & Food Pantry. Guest speakers will be T.J. Dennison and Barbara Fitzhugh from St. John's, who will lead a short presentation. Pastor John Chidester from Missionary Baptist Church, and Gary Miles from Feeding America will also speak. St. John Thrift Store & Food Pantry is located at 301 N Main St in Brownsville. The non-profit organization, whose mission is to help the people of Edmonson County, provide their services through the sales of merchandise in the thrift store. This allows them to purchase food items for the pantry from feeding America and assist locals with some utility costs. They continue their effort to keep prices low so that locals can provide certain necessities for their families. Store hours are Mon- Friday 9am to 2:30pm and Saturday, 9am to 1pm. Pantry Hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10am to 2:00pm "The luncheon is free to the public and will be an informative way to learn about this valued Chamber of Commerce member and to find out about their good works in our community," said Chamber Director Rhonda Clemmons.
