The Mammoth Cave Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation recently donated $500.00 to the Edmonson County "Archery in The Schools" Program. The program is coordinated by chapter member and Edmonson County Sheriff's Deputy Wally Ritter along with Warren County Sheriff's Deputy Chris Shelton. It is a great after-school program and the chapter is proud to support the efforts of the program managers and the young men and women who participate. Proceeds from fundraisers such as habitat seed sales and contributions from local businesses allow the Mammoth Cave chapter to make donations to worthwhile programs such as this one. The chapter sends thanks to the communities for their continued support and encouragement. Coach Wally Ritter said the archery team practices every Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4pm-5:30pm. The program is open to 7th - 12th grades and participates in NASP Competitions. Just so there are no misunderstandings, the Mammoth Cave Chapter of the NWTF is a non-profit organization and not affiliated with Mammoth Cave National Park.
