Bookmobile/Outreach Services Coordinator
Edmonson County Public Library

Pay: $16.50 a hour ($32,175.00)

Description of Hours: This is a full time position. Work is typically scheduled during the week, but the Coordinator must be available to work evenings and weekends for special events. The Coordinator is supervised by the Library Director.

Job Summary: The Coordinator will provide exemplary customer service to all library patrons and will represent the library in the community. The Coordinator will independently drive and operate the bookmobile and facilitate the delivery of library materials to homes, schools and community stops. They will coordinate the maintenance of the library’s vehicles, outreach events, and will work at the main library when outreach duties are not scheduled.

Job Duties:

• Maintains bookmobile by daily inspection to ensure the vehicles are in good working order; check tires, fuel, oil etc. Keeps the interior and exterior of the vehicles clean and orderly. 
• Works independently on a day-to-day basis, striving to meet assigned goals and objectives. Schedule bookmobile stops. 
• Drives the bookmobile to specified locations according to the predetermined schedule.
• Provides consistent, gracious, and courteous service to library patrons and fellow staff; understands and complies with the library’s policies and procedures while safeguarding confidentiality and restricted information; exhibits a willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty to meet patrons’ requests and to promote a positive image of the library throughout the community.
• Stocks shelves with appropriate books and materials consistent with seasonal schedules and routes. Selects items from library collection to take on the bookmobile; maintains balanced collection for patron’s needs and wants; and selects books and materials for homebound patrons and delivers to door.
• Assists patrons with selection and locating library materials; processes reserve requests; interlibrary loan requests; renewals; publicizes bookmobile routes through local sources; and promotes and publicizes bookmobile services.
• Produces circulation reports as scheduled; produces date for annual report; and assists in library duties when needed and not assigned in the bookmobile.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates the outreach programs of the library.
• Must be able to lift 15-40lbs of books and materials.

Minimum Requirements 

High School Diploma (Associates Degree preferred)
Paraprofessional Certificate (within five years)
Valid Kentucky Drivers License
No criminal convictions on file (background check is mandatory)
