The Edmonson County 8 and Under All-Star team was awarded with state runner-up honors Sunday, July 8, 2018 after falling to Barren County Maroon in the Babe Ruth League Kentucky Championship game 18-11.

Edmonson County was one of six teams competing for the title in the tourney that began on Friday as EC defeated Leitchfield in a big way, 18-3. 

Saturday, the boys dominated again with two huge wins; the first over Grayson County Grey (25-10) and Grayson County Orange (22-0). Sunday's games began with another Edmonson County win as they took Barren County White 11-4.

The wins placed EC as the #2 seed against BC Maroon (#1 seed) for the championship game on Sunday where the boys fell a little short in a very tight game. It was neck-and-neck until Barren was able to pull away late in the contest.
