Julie Kiser of Louisville Road, Bowling Green, has been named the 2017 Master Conservationist for Edmonson County. The Master Conservationist Award recognizes farmers who have completed more than 90 percent of their conservation plan to protect the soil, air, and water on their farm, which also protects the environment of their community. Mark Meeks of Oak Hill Road, was named the 2017 Outstanding Cooperator for Edmonson County. The Outstanding Cooperator award is awarded to farmers who have completed their Master Conservationist criteria and have continued their commitment to protect the environment. "The Edmonson County Conservation District would like to congratulate both Ms. Kiser and Mr. Meeks on their achievements," the ECCD said in a written statement. "Ms. Kiser was not available to come to our meeting, but both she and Mr. Meeks were awarded a certificate, a sign for their farm, and a paperweight commemorating the event."
