Twelve different Pony Express 4-H Club members were honored for their service and accomplishments in the club during the Monday, Jan 25 fiscal court meeting, six of them were present to be recognized.

Spokesperson Karen Ryan said that the group of kids had been extremely active in the community and have contributed in a number of ways. "They do everything from horse judging in and out of state, they're involved with horse shows in the county, district, and state, and they've raised money for 4-H camp and different things, so we want to acknowledge them for all they do for the community," she said.

They were each given a certificate and a pin which represented the number of years served in the organization. The following students were recognized:
Laynie Mitchell 4yrs, Rachel Cowles 4yrs, Braeden May 1yr, Maison May 3yrs, Cassie Tarter 4yrs, Keaton Thompson 4yrs, Trista Majors 4yrs, Kyle Majors 4yrs, Amelia Chan Hollis 4yrs, Robert White 1yr, Bret White 1yr.

"We appreciate all the hard work that the volunteers put into this program," said Judge Executive Wil Cannon. "They're training our kids to be future leaders not only in agriculture, but also in everything else."

Amanda May was not pictured. She is one of the leaders and does a wonderful job with the 4-H Club.

We apologize for incorrect identification on an earlier version. We've updated the story with the correct names. Proud of our kids!
