by SEES Coach Jeannie Basil:
The third annual Edmonson County Schools Family Fitness Walk was held on Saturday, April 29th at Edmonson County High School. Over 90 people registered for the event where Kyrock Elementary, South Edmonson Elementary students, and family members could walk/run their choice of number of laps on the ECHS track.

Students, who could earn Recess Walking Club points by participating in the event, proudly rang a bell each time they completed a mile on the track. Once participants completed their laps, they visited activity stations (set up by a group of WKU Physical Education majors) that included hula hoops, jump ropes, beanbag toss, ball toss and a push-up station where students could challenge their parent/guardian to a pushup contest.

Nutrition related, hands-on activities that educated students on healthy snack choices accompanied the healthy snack table where grapes, bananas, carrots, snack bags and bottled water were provided.
