Fishing Report, 10/17/18: Winter's Effect Not As Much As Sometimes Thought

by Terry Watts:
The winter draw does not have as much of an affect on fish as we may think.  Moving water creates current and current tends to put fish on the downstream side of cover.  Channel bends create good current breaks.

A spinnerbait or swim jig fished 5 to 10 feet deep along chunk rock catches some good bass.

Crappie have been caught anywhere from 8 to 15 feet.  As the lake falls, look for them to move almost daily. They don't go far, but they do move to the next piece of cover to their liking. Good luck this weekend.

Wear your PFD and take the family fishing.
