Signups July 13th-20th, Must Schedule a Free Install Edmonson Voice Report: The American Red Cross, in partnership with Bank of Edmonson County, is offering home fire safety services to Edmonson County residents. These services include: installing free 10 year smoke alarms, replacing outdated smoke alarms, providing home fire safety information and more. The services and smoke alarms are being offered completely free of charge. The American Red Cross will be in the lobby of the Brownsville Bank of Edmonson County location from July 13th – 20th to schedule a FREE install of a Smoke Alarm in your home to anyone interested. Stop by one of these days to complete a registration form and choose your install date and time. The alarm install days will be July 22nd or 23rd. Again, you must sign up first before you will receive your alarm. Once you register, you will be contacted to set a date and time for smoke alarm installation on Friday, July 22nd or Saturday, July 23rd. Volunteer teams will be installing 10-year lithium battery powered smoke alarms. Someone 18 or older must be home at the time of the installation. The Red Cross responds to nearly 64,000 disasters a year, the majority of which are home fires. Working smoke alarms in a home cut the risk of death by half, and having an escape plan further improves the odds of survival. The Red Cross wants to end these tragedies and save lives, that’s why we launched the Home Fire Campaign in 2014. To request a free smoke alarm installation, stop by the Brownsville North Main location, fill out a request form (attached below), or call 270-715-1129 and leave a message with your name, address, and daytime phone number, or you can email the information to [email protected].
