Great Turnout For Senior Day Out

Great turnout at Senior Day Out.

Local seniors came out to the Community Center in Brownsville on Friday afternoon August 17, 2018 for Senior Day Out, an event hosted by Edmonson County Senior Food Pantry, St. John’s Thrift Store, Brownsville Senior Center and Community Pantry. 

​Over 20 booths were set up by vendors for the event. During Senior Day Out, activities included games like ring toss, spin the wheel, and bingo. Prizes donated by local businesses were given away and a free lunch was served. 

​“We would like to give a special thanks to all the vendors here today,” said Vickie Walker, Edmonson County Senior Food Pantry Coordinator. “This event wouldn’t be possible without them."

​St. John’s Thrift Store Manager Barbara Fitzhugh said “This event gives local seniors the opportunity to learn about community resources available to them and to have day out. We appreciate everyone that took time out of their day to come out.”
