Kayla Childress Hired As New Chamber of Commerce Coordinator

Kayla Childress of Brownsville has been named the new coordinator for the Edmonson County Chamber of Commerce.

Mrs. Kayla Childress has been named the new Edmonson County Chamber of Commerce Coordinator.

Mrs. Childress is a 2011 graduate of Edmonson County High and said community involvement was her main purpose in applying for the job.

"I wanted to be more of a part of our county and serve those around me," she told the Edmonson Voice.

Kayla was hired by the Chamber Board today and she jumped right into the job at today's board meeting.

Kayla is already learning the ropes of the Chamber and has started working on upcoming events like the Chamber Fall Cookout on the Square on September 24th, the Chamber Luncheon on October 13th with Santa's Helping Hands, and the Annual Chamber Golf Scramble on October 15th.

Chamber Board President Darren Doyle said Kayla was the unanimous choice from the board.

"Kayla has a very laid-back personality that I think our community will find easy to talk to," Doyle said. "She loves her community very much and this is a great way for her to be more part of it. We look forward to working with Kayla as she helps continue to move the Chamber forward."

She lives in Brownsville with her husband, Kyle, and son Cullen.
