Letter To The Editor: Support For Shane Doyle For Sheriff

Dear Editor,

We would like to invite our fellow Edmonson Countians to join us on May 22nd in proudly supporting our local sheriff, Shane Doyle. Shane’s credentials as a dedicated public servant and a true visionary leader have been well-documented by his remarkable track record.

Just like so many of your readers, we too are proud when checking the day’s headlines only to find more and more arrests that have been made due to the crackdown on drugs and violent crimes. Since Sheriff Doyle was elected, there has been a 10% increase in drug arrests-- even with a more limited staff. Property crimes have decreased by 37% with a 10% increase in convictions. Violent crimes have decreased by 10% with an 8% increase in convictions. Indisputable facts such as these are just a few reasons we commend Shane and his staff for achieving impressive results in such a short time.

As parents that are raising a young family, it is both encouraging and reassuring to know Sheriff Doyle is fighting daily for the betterment of our small town. The opportunity for Shane to continue his commitment to keep our families safe will be a direct result of the support from neighbors like you and us. Let’s come together once again and do our part to re-elect our sheriff, Shane Doyle.
