Darren Doyle, story:
Some of the hardest working folks in the Edmonson County School District are too often overlooked, and those are the custodians that behind the scenes, keeping local schools clean and safe. The custodial staff in EC schools have already reported back to work, and according to Callie Beliles, new Director of Facilities and Safety for Edmonson County Schools, they are already working hard to get local schools ready for a “better normal”. "Last week, Lannie Deweese and I kicked off the start of their year with their required annual safety training, and these folks are extremely excited to start the new school year out," she said. "They are truly the frontline in keeping our kids healthy, and we appreciate them so much. This group of people truly love our kids, and work so hard to ensure we have the cleanest environment possible to help our students and staff achieve excellence." Superintendent of Edmonson County Schools Brian Alexander said local facilities would be a huge disadvantage without the successful team our local schools have. “We’re extremely thankful for the efforts our custodians put forth every day to keep our students and staff safe," he said. "Throughout the pandemic, our custodians have continually worked to keep our schools clean. As a school district, we are constantly striving to make sure our custodial staff at each school is well-trained and well-equipped to do their jobs.”
