12/16/2016

Edmonson Voice Staff Report
During his term as President of the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky, Robbie Brantley and his wife, Andrea, have worked diligently with other funeral directors and affiliates across the state of Kentucky to raise $25,060 for Kosair Children’s Hospital and Kosair Charities.

The Brantley family, Andrea, Robbie, Tucker, Ty, and Trace, join with Sidney Fogle, Executive Director of the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky, to present a check for $15,300 for the Heart Center at the children’s hospital through the Children’s Hospital Foundation. Also pictured are Dr. Erle Austin, the cardiovascular surgeon that performed Ty’s surgery, and one of his associates.

The Brantley family experienced a near death experience with their middle son, Ty. As an infant, he underwent heart surgery for coarctation repair of the aorta. While he was at Kosair Children's Hospital, they witnessed critically ill kids that never left the hospital. This life changing trial gave them a desire to help children that were fighting for their lives.

Robbie and Andrea are both funeral directors at Patton Funeral Home. They reside in Chalybeate with their three sons.

This Christmas Tree was sponsored by the Funeral Directors Association of Kentucky at the 27th annual Festival of Trees and Lights hosted by the Children’s Hospital Foundation. The trees are sold to raise money for the children’s hospital. This one was decorated to reflect the theme of the state convention-- "FDAK's Heart Beats For Kids".
