Laielah Roscoe, a 12-year old ECMS student, took home top Miss Preteen honors at the Amerifest National Pageant U.S. on July 14th in French Lick, Indiana. Laielah has been competing in pageants for the last three years, getting her start at the Edmonson County Fair Pageant at the age of nine. "I've learned so much from being involved with different pageant systems, but the one that's stuck out most is Amerifest," she said. "It's taught me that 'it is more than just...' meaning, that it's not just about the crown or sash or how pretty you are. It's about giving back to your community and being pretty on the inside, not just the outside."
Laielah is involved in multiple projects from taking up donations for foster care kids to collecting items for the "Service for Sailors Program," which sends care packages for active duty sailors. "I was so excited to win the title of Miss Preteen US AmeriFest because it's my dream and I worked so hard to get here," she added. "It's a lot of work but I have so much fun with My AmeriFest family, and it's always a party when we get together. I hope to inspire young girls like myself and show them that with hard work, their dreams can also come true." You can follow her pageant Facebook Page here. She is the daughter of Eric and Ginny Roscoe of Sweeden.
