On Saturday, 4 November, Post members will set up at numerous Brownsville business locations to conduct our annual Buddy Poppy Drive. Buddy Poppies are assembled by disabled and needy veterans in VA Hospitals. Donations to the VFW Buddy Poppy program provides compensation to the veterans who assemble the poppies, provides financial assistance in maintaining state and national veterans' rehabilitation and service programs and partially supports the VFW National Home For Children.

The Veteran’s Day Ceremony will take place at in the gym at the Edmonson County High School on Friday, 10 November at 09:30 am.  Post Commander Edwin Vincent, a veteran of the Gulf War, will be the speaker and the student winners of the VFW Voice Of Democracy Program will be announced and prizes awarded.
On Saturday, 11 November, Post members will continue with the Buddy Poppy Drive at the Walmart in Leitchfield, Kentucky.

Finally, on Saturday, 18 November, our Post will be helping host the VFW District 5 (Butler, Warren, Simpson, Barren, Allen, and Edmonson counties) Shotgun Challenge at the Rockcastle Shooting Center/Park Mammoth Resort at 585 Park Mammoth Rd, Park City, KY.

Register at the resort by 9 am and be out on the clay target range by 10 am.  Cost is $8.50 for 25 clay targets (bring your own ammo or purchase some at the resort beforehand).

Bring hearing and eye protection.  Also bring or borrow a safe 12 gauge shotgun in modified or improved cylinder choke.  Prizes will be awarded for the best and worst scores of the morning.  Consider joining us for lunch at the Lookout Restaurant in the resort afterwards to enjoy their new menu and the comradeship of fellow veterans.  ALL AREA VETERANS ARE INVITED!
