by Terry Watts:
Nolin is at summer pool, in the low 80's and crystal clear. Bluegill are biting good on popeye jigs tipped with a wax worm. Look for overhanging trees and gravel banks in protected areas for big bluegill beds.
Bass are in their post spawn transition period. Carolina rigs and deep crankbaits are catching better quality fish. Spots are on shaky heads with finesse worms. Melon/red, green pumpkin and red bug are good flavors. Rocky banks and bluffs are good areas to fish.
White bass fishing is fair in the main lake. Spinners and jig/grub combinations are good. Look for schools of bait at the surface to find feeding white bass.
Catfish are biting good on a variety of baits. Rocky banks and flats near drops are good areas to fish.
Wear your PFD and boat safely this holiday weekend!
